SIX SINGAPOREAN CHARTERED ACCOUNTANTS RECEIVE PRESTIGIOUS FELLOWSHIPS

SYDNEY, June 24, 2019 /Medianet International-AsiaNet/--

Six Singaporean Chartered Accountants have tonight received Fellowships, the highest recognition in the accounting profession.

Chartered Accountants Australia and New Zealand President Stephen Walker presented the awards tonight at the annual President's Dinner in Singapore as eighteen Chartered Accountants were recognised for their achievements.

Chartered Accountant Fellowships are peer awarded for outstanding career achievements and contributions to the profession through business and community endeavors.

The Singaporean Fellowship recipients are:

Martin Aitchison
Ong Chao Choon
Soh Kok Leong
Alywin Teh
Brahma Sharma
Samantha Chan

Recipient Ong Chao Choon said there have been many changes in the accounting profession over the past thirty years.

"Businesses have become a lot larger, global and complex. What was once predominantly audit-tax-insolvency accountancy firms are now multi-competency professional services firms in order to attract talent and deal with the complexity.

"Accounting is the language of business, mastering this language has allowed me to understand businesses intimately, and transit between various advisory roles with ease," Mr Ong said.

Mr Walker said the Chartered Accountants' designation is internationally recognised for its commitment to building long-term prosperity for clients and communities, while maintaining the highest ethical standards.

"A core foundation that will help navigate us through the changing business landscape worldwide is ethical leadership. It is important that ethics are at the centre of everything we do as accountants," Mr Walker said.
