While the effects are differ from person to person, but they can be linked to an overall decline in general health and well-being.
Even without anaemia, iron deficiency can be debilitating, exacerbate an underlying chronic disease and lead to increased morbidity and mortality. If the condition develops, common symptoms include fatigue, pale skin, brittle nails, craving non-food items such as dirt, clay and ice and an inability to concentrate.
Iron is required throughout the body. It is essential for the production of red blood cells and ensuring that the heart and skeletal muscles can function effectively.

Patton Electronics enhances IPv6 in SmartNode CPE

KUALA LUMPUR, Nov 21 (Bernama) – Patton Electronics Co. – doing business as a bricks-and-mortar manufacturer since 1984 – has enhanced IPv6 in its SmartNode CPE.

By implementing enhanced IPv6 in SmartNode VoIP CPE, Patton supports simplified network architectures and lowers operation and maintenance costs for service providers and enterprises.

The IPv6 standard expands available IP addresses octillion times or at least 17 billion.

According to Patton in a statement, the global expansion of the Internet, proliferation of IP endpoint devices and the burgeoning Internet of Things (IoT) reflects that Pv4 addresses will soon run out.

With IPv4, maintaining network address translation (NAT) tables is complex, time-consuming and costly – whatech.com predicts the IPv6 market will grow at rate (CAGR) of +31 per cent until 2023 and beyond.

Service providers made plans and some partially implemented IPv6 in their networks. Carriers like Telefonica and T-MOBILE and enterprises such as Microsoft have started the changeover.

“One thing is for sure, we are not living in an All-IPv6 world. Still the move to IPv6 is inevitable. And there are good reasons to do it sooner rather than later,” said Executive Vice President at Patton, Burton A. Patton (Burt).

“Getting from IPv4 to All-IPv6 networking presents challenges. We will live in a mixed IPv4/IPv6 world for some years,” Patton added in the statement.

CISCO UNITES SD-WAN AND SECURITY TO ADDRESS THE NEW CLOUD EDGE

LAS VEGAS, Nov 14 (Bernama-GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Cisco Partner Summit -- Cisco is unifying its security and
software-defined wide area network (SD-WAN) technologies to help organizations embrace the cloud faster with choice and confidence.

The WAN is undergoing a radical transformation. Today, organizations host their applications in multiple clouds – public, private and SaaS.
The way people work has also changed; employees connect from coffee shops and airport lounges, instead of just the office. Now, organizations must rely on the Internet to connect users to business-critical applications. This has resulted in a new Cloud Edge – the intersection of networking and security.

Until now, SD-WAN solutions have forced IT to choose between application experience or security. By evolving its SD-WAN portfolio,
Cisco is addressing the new realities of the Cloud Edge. Cisco SD-WAN can help IT deliver better application experiences and make users more productive with unmatched simplicity and scale. And now, best-of-breed security can be easily enabled anywhere it is needed, from the branch to the cloud.

“The emergence of the new Cloud Edge is disrupting our customers’ network and security architectures. Today, every WAN device must become software defined and secure,” said Scott Harrell, senior vice president and general manager, Enterprise Networking at Cisco. “Cisco’s SD-WAN makes it easy
for customers to get the very best of networking and security. We are building a bridge to a new business world that speeds our customers’ ability to
unlock the power of the cloud — faster with less risk.”

Cisco SD-WAN: Simple, Secure, Scalable
Cisco SD-WAN is built to address today’s most pressing issues, yet flexible enough to tackle the challenges of tomorrow. New innovations include:

- Fusing Security with SD-WAN: From application-aware enterprise firewall and intrusion prevention, to URL filtering, advanced security is now
integrated into Cisco SD-WAN devices and managed through a single pane of glass. And Cisco SD-WAN is all powered by Talos, the industry’s
most powerful cyber threat intelligence solution.

- Simplifying Cloud Security Deployments: By integrating Cisco SD-WAN with Cisco Umbrella, access to malicious destinations can be
blocked before a connection is ever established.

- Applications Experience: Cisco has partnered with Microsoft to enhance the Office 365 application experience for users. Unlike other vendors,
Cisco SD-WAN monitors in real-time all available paths to the Microsoft Office 365 cloud. Using Microsoft Office URLs, Cisco is also able to
determine the closest cloud, resulting in up to 40 percent faster performance for users.

- Open and Programmable: With open APIs, Cisco SD-WAN provides service providers and partners the opportunity to create unique new services.
To help developers and network engineers innovate, Cisco DevNet has created new SD-WAN learning labs and sandboxes.

VIRGIN VOYAGES SETS OUT TO RIVAL FOOD SCENE IN WORLD FAMOUS CITIES

Sir Richard Branson’s new cruise line’s food reveal breaks all the traditional industry rules

NEW YORK, Nov 9 (Bernama-GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Virgin Voyages, the new lifestyle brand set to disrupt the travel industry, today announces the breadth of its onboard eateries, which include an expansive array of restaurants ranging from haute cuisine to casual fare. With a total of 20+ food choices onboard Virgin Voyages’ first ship, Scarlet Lady, the company released new designs for their restaurants, seaside lounges and casual eateries by their Creative Collective, which includes world-renowned designers from Roman and Williams, Tom Dixon, Concrete Amsterdam and Soft Room, amongst others.

Virgin Voyages does not believe in paying more for great food and ditched the traditional upcharges levied when dining in specialty restaurants at sea.  Virgin Voyages has designed all eateries on board to offer exceptional made to order eats and opted to include all restaurant food in the voyage fare.

The Virgin Voyages Rebellious Luxe experience is rooted in the modern romance of sailing: a thoroughly new take on the formal grandeur and opulence of the ocean liner heyday when ships were at the forefront of both technology and luxury.

Virgin Voyages will offer sailors a uniquely elevated and boutique Adult-by-Design experience for the 18+ traveler.  Virgin Voyages aims to be one of the cleanest fleets at sea, with a ban on single-use plastics for its sailors and no buffet on board the ship, the company will significantly reduce waste and reinvest savings into clean technology and quality products for its sailors.  The Scarlet Lady is designed to reflect a yacht’s sleek luxury and will set sail from PortMiami for the 2020 season with 2,770 sailors and 1,160 crew on an unforgettable journey to the Caribbean, she will also be the newest ship sailing to Havana on select voyages.

“There’s a Virgin twist on everything you’ll see aboard the Scarlet Lady, which means there will be no stuffy formalities, boring buffets and no main dining rooms. Sailors are not going to want to leave our ship after they experience how we’ve designed our restaurants and tasted the dishes we are going to be serving up in 2020,” said Sir Richard Branson, founder of the Virgin Group.

THE RESTAURANTS
Virgin Voyages will bring city-like eating to sea and throw out the traditional cruise dining rule book, with no buffet, no main dining room, no forced formal wear, no assigned seating, no assigned dining times and enhanced the choice for sailors to grab a bite by keeping restaurant doors open until well into the night and in some cases the early hours of the morning.

With beautifully-designed eateries setting the stage, Virgin Voyages has expanded its Creative Collective to include the world class AvroKO Hospitality Group, AvroKO's strategy arm, Brand Bureau (BB), and their very own Michelin-starred chef Brad Farmerie. BB took the reigns creating the strategy for the entire on-board food and beverage experience, viewing it as its own small city and thinking through what experiences the people of that city would want and enjoy. Chef Brad Farmerie of AvroKO Hospitality Group came in to help develop the overall culinary programming strategy and identify culinary experts in the various cuisine types to execute each of the exciting menus. AvroKO Hospitality Group’s portfolio includes Saxon + Parole, Genuine Liquorette, and Ghost Donkey.

From experimental and haute cuisine to healthy quick bite options, the onboard eateries are tailored for sailors to realize new experiences that are grounded in core values of discovery, transformation, intimate connections and Vitamin Sea - the brand’s approach to well-being for people and the planet - whilst always being never normal.

Sailors can dine at a table or opt to enjoy their meal at the bar, with nearly all restaurants on board featuring a bar. Each restaurant will be helmed by a leading chef who leads their kitchen with passion and artfulness. With a made-to-order philosophy around food, Virgin Voyages pledges to never have to sacrifice quality for a quick bite.

WAKE- Designed by Roman and Williams, Wake offers sailors a dramatic view of the ship’s wake.  Serving a theatrical take on steak and seafood, Wake is the most glamorous restaurant on the ship, with a dramatic grand staircase entryway.

Cisco's new study on the way businesses operate their IT

KUALA LUMPUR, Nov 2 (Bernama) -- Cisco Systems Inc has launched its new IT Operations Readiness Index revealing how data is transforming the way businesses operate their information technology (IT).

Cisco’s Global vice-president (IoT, Blockchain, AI and Incubation Business), Joseph Bradley said: “Fuelled by data and empowered by automation, IT can operate in real-time, be predictive, and rely on detailed data to have a true seat at the table, delivering strategic value for their organisation and customers.”
The Index reveals that IT spends around 78 per cent of their budgets simply “running the business” which leaves little room for innovation. It suggests reallocation of budgets to prioritise transformational activities as some organisations are already progressing along the IT operations maturity model.
“Through analytics and automation, CIOs can evolve from blindly reacting to events such as outages to continuously monitor and optimise their infrastructure based on predictions of future needs to deliver strategic outcomes for their business partners,” said Bradley.

Key findings of the Index include operations becoming a strategic focus for business success, with 28 per cent of the survey respondents’ IT budgets spent on optimising and remediating IT operations and they are expected to increase that budget over the next 12 months.
Investing in operations also drives customer benefits and value to the business as 88 per cent of IT leaders said their investment in IT operations over the past 12 months had improved external customer satisfaction and 89 per cent noted improvements in innovation.
It is also highlighted that AI and talent will result in success, with 42 per cent of the respondents saying AI was the emerging technology that would have the biggest impact on their ability to automate, while 51 per cent of respondents used AI to improve automation capability.
The Index surveyed more than 1,500 senior IT leaders worldwide to understand where organisations are on their IT operations transformation journey, revealing a four-step model for IT operations maturity, focused on how organisations handle events they face.

BEST'S MARKET SEGMENT OUTLOOK: SOUTH KOREA NON-LIFE SECTOR IS STABLE

HONG KONG, Oct 31 (Bernama-BUSINESS WIRE) -- A.M. Best has a stable outlook on the South Korea non-life insurance sector, despite operating and regulatory environments that remain challenging for insurance companies.

A new Best’s Market Segment Report, titled, “Market Segment Outlook: South Korea Non-Life,” states that although the overall market is facing increased top-line pressures and tightening regulations, the industry still expects improved underwriting profitability in the coming year from premium hikes announced by South Korea’s regulator in September 2018 and the cooling-down of competition in the long-term business line. In terms of underwriting performance, the industry’s overall combined ratio has faced two offsetting trends in the past four years: a decreasing loss ratio, mainly due to premium hikes in the long-term and automobile insurance lines, and an increasing expense ratio, a result of heightened competition in the long-term insurance line.
